B's ARE BOSS!

B is for Brunch.  Friday Brunch.  It's an institution in Dubai.
And we enjoyed one on Friday with some Marina friends!

B is for Basketball.  We went to a game early Saturday morning.  The team wore bright red Ingersoll Rand jerseys and played an intense game. 

B is for Big.  B is for Blue.  B is for the big, blue sky that held the Emirates planes which flew over our heads throughout every second of that basketball game!

B is for Black.  Two mosques are being built in the Marina.  The one that is going up by our buildings looks like this.

The one being built on the other end of the Marina looks like this.  Yes, it is black.  And no, we don't know why.
 

B is for beach.  Our Arabian Sea's beach is full of beautiful white sand.  That sand is fire hot right now, but the water is cooling off a bit.  It's now bathtub warm and very doable!!!
 

B is for Big.  It was a Big Weekend that we enjoyed start to finish!!  I like B's.  B's are Boss!!

LARGEST, TALLEST, HIGHEST....

Last night John and I 

enjoyed dinner at a restaurant in the Dubai Mall,

the LARGEST mall in the world,

overlooking an ice skating rink

where people were ice skating in the desert!

After dinner, we walked over to the

Burj Khalifa,

the TALLEST building in the world.

We rode the elevator to the 123rd floor,

walked down a flight of stairs to the 122nd floor,

and entered AT.MOSPHERE,

the HIGHEST restaurant in the world!

This delightful evening was brought to us

by our friends at

UNITED AIRLINES!

LARGEST * TALLEST * HIGHEST

....only in Dubai!

IT WON'T BE LONG NOW!!

John and I 

went for a walk last night.

WE WENT FOR A WALK LAST NIGHT!

Do you know how exciting that is?

It was still triple digits and a bit muggy 

and sweat was still dripping down our faces and 

our shirts were still kind of sticking to our backs and

we were still drinking water like crazy, but....

WE WENT FOR A WALK LAST NIGHT!

The moon was shining bright over the 

DUBAI MARINA.

Although most of the outside chairs were still empty,

I was reminded of why I LOVE living in Dubai!

There's nothing better than when the temps begin to lower

and the Marina is filled to the max (once again) 

with people enjoying 

LIFE IN DUBAI!

IT WON'T BE LONG NOW...

WINTER IS ON ITS WAY!

IT'S OFFICIAL!

Yes, we're certainly having fun on Thursday afternoons!

But c'mon ladies, isn't it about time we officially change the name from THURSDAY COFFEE/TEA/ETC. to:

THURSDAY COCKTAILS!!

SEEDLESS!

And now this 

piece of watermelon is seedless....

....thanks to the winged gentleman above! 

PARK ISLAND, DUBAI MARINA!

John and I live in a flat in Park Island.  Park Island was named "Park Island" because of the parks that would be built on either side of its four towers. 

Currently one of the "parks" is being built. 

 TaDaaaaa...here it is!!!

Next time someone asks where I live I'm going to have to say, "Mosque Island"!

When we are on our balcony 

in the Dubai Marina

we see the Atlantis...

 (well, kind of!)

 When we were poolside at the Atlantis

we saw the Dubai Marina......

AHHHHHHH, ATLANTIS B!!

Growing up 

my family and I vacationed

in Florida

almost every single year

without a problem.

Then all of a sudden

STING RAYS

started stinging

and for any one of you that have been stung by a ray

you know what it means to be

IN PAIN!

IN AWFUL PAIN!

The only relief is a bucket full of HOT water.

Don't ask me why feeding Sting Rays was on my bucket list,

but it was!

And it just so happens that

THE ATLANTIS

offers feeding the Sting Rays!

So that is what John and I did!

(John wasn't going to do it --

but he joined in at the last minute!)

Yes, we "manned up" and fed those sons-of-a-gun!

And it wasn't creepy at all!

But first, a "How to Feed a Sting Ray" lesson!

 

Then we ventured into the chilly water and 

saw some beautiful little fishys!

 

And then we saw this big guy!  YIKES!

 It wasn't long before we realized

that the rays were like

any other living creature!

They literally were all over us begging for food!!

What an experience it was!

Yes, it's now official

 that....

 

And we LOVE 

the

ATLANTIS POOL 

as well!!

AHHHHH, ATLANTIS!!

AHHHHHH, ATLANTIS A!

The Atlantis Dubai

ran a special

and, you guessed it,

John and I took advantage of it!

We checked in and found that we were 

not the only ones that received

 the "Atlantis Special Weekend" email!

 We checked into our room, 

dropped our luggage,

jumped into our bathing suits 

and scrambled over to

AQUAVENTURE

where we spent the rest of the day!

Sorry, no pictures!  

We were way too busy floating and splashing

and riding the waves!

But I LOVE the Atlantis!

And, I swear, everywhere you look,

 inside and out,

there is a

POSTABLE PICTURE

just waiting to be taken.

And therefore,

I shall post the postable pictures I took.

ENJOY!

As always, we thoroughly enjoyed every second at

AQUAVENTURE.

That evening we met up with friends 

and enjoyed

HAPPY HOUR in our room!

 Then we headed to dinner at the infamous

 NOBU RESTAURANT.

OMGosh, it was an absolutely delicious dinner

shared with great friends

but, unfortunately, a not-so-great photo!
