IN A MATTER OF MINUTES!

and I walked to the bank 

one morning last week.

It was so foggy outside, we couldn't see a thing!

We looked left....nothing!

We looked right....nothing!

We completed our banking a mere twenty minutes later,

and VOILA,

every building and boat in the Marina

reappeared!

In a matter of minutes!

IN THE NICK OF TIME!!

The weather in Dubai has been
STRANGE
lately!

When Jason and Chloe were here,
we had 
PERFECT WEATHER
each and every day.



The day after they left, 

it became chilly, overcast, and
RAINY!
(Yes, I said RAINY....well, it was actually DRIZZLY!)

Yesterday morning our great weather came back again!
Just in time for 
JONATHAN, NATHAN, MIRANDA, AND TED
to arrive!

Just in the nick of time!

YESTERDAY!

It was kind of a weird day in Dubai yesterday.

BUT I HAD THE CAR!

I HAD THE CAR!

(And yes, my cast came off....woohoo!!!!)

Off I drove to run a zillion errands before 

CHRISTMAS

and before 

JASON AND CHLOE GET HERE!!

I snapped these photos on

SHEIKH ZAYED ROAD

and thought they were kind of cool

and wanted to share!

So here you go, Internet!

looked like!

And then the sun broke through,

and it turned into yet another typical winter day in Dubai!

CHRISTMAS

is coming!

(And so are Jason and Chloe!!!)

IN THE CLOUDS!!

Woke up

early one morning

with my head in the clouds...

 

 

...and quickly decided it was a very nice place to be!

TOMORROW! TOMORROW!!

What's the weather like in Dubai right now?

Let's just say it is

P.E.R.F.E.C.T.

And I mean, like really, really

P.E.R.F.E.C.T.   

The sky has been blue,

the temps in the low 80's, with a wonderful breeze blowing

most of the time.

The evenings have been cooler and we need 

a light jacket

or sweater to stay warm.

And then yesterday and today Shallie and I 

  woke up to this.......

And as we walked around the Marina

we felt like our

heads were in the clouds!

 

And we both are wondering,

at this very moment,

what TOMORROW, TOMORROW will bring!

RAIN, RAIN, RAIN IN DUBAI!!!

We woke up last Friday morning to

RAIN IN DUBAI!!!

And we actually had to change our plans for the day!
(We were SUPPOSED to spend the day at the beach
watching the World Parachuting Competition.)
 

We have NEVER had to change our plans,

due to weather, since moving to Dubai!

And we were THRILLED!

It was AMAZING driving around in the RAIN!
(Oh how the lack of something makes you appreciate it!)
 

We made our way over to Lan Kwai Fong (The Peking Duck)

to feast on one of our favorite lunches...
the Peking Duck!

It is located in Oud Metha near Lamcy Plaza --
an older area of Dubai. 
(Obviously!)

Would you believe we needed a boat to get there!

Here, see for yourselves!

This is what happens when rain comes to Dubai!  

We'd heard that when it actually
RAINS hard in Dubai
that the streets flood and the roofs leak!
But we'd never seen it first hand!
 

  
  I'm posting a bunch of pictures
because I want to remember this day -- as we probably
won't see RAIN like this for another 
year or two!!
(Literally!) 

Once we made it inside the restaurant,
we enjoyed the tacky Christmas decorations,

 and watched the water come closer and closer

to the restaurant door.

But most of all, we thoroughly enjoyed

the awesome

Peking Duck lunch that was served! 

Lan Kwai Fong -- it may not be pretty, 
but IT IS DELICIOUS!

After lunch, John and I drove around Dubai
and savored 
each and every single solitary
RAIN DROP!
 

 
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN IN DUBAI!*! 

ROLLING, ROLLING, ROLLING!

And the 

FOG

came rolling in!!!

And the

FOG

went rolling out.

And the 

BLUE SKY

came rolling in.

And the white

MOON 

went rolling out! 

THE END!*! 

IT WON'T BE LONG NOW!!

John and I 

went for a walk last night.

WE WENT FOR A WALK LAST NIGHT!

Do you know how exciting that is?

It was still triple digits and a bit muggy 

and sweat was still dripping down our faces and 

our shirts were still kind of sticking to our backs and

we were still drinking water like crazy, but....

WE WENT FOR A WALK LAST NIGHT!

The moon was shining bright over the 

DUBAI MARINA.

Although most of the outside chairs were still empty,

I was reminded of why I LOVE living in Dubai!

There's nothing better than when the temps begin to lower

and the Marina is filled to the max (once again) 

with people enjoying 

LIFE IN DUBAI!

IT WON'T BE LONG NOW...

WINTER IS ON ITS WAY!

DRIPPING!

When John and I 

returned to Dubai from the States,

I complained that it was HOT, HUMID and RAMADAN!

Well, Ramadan is over.

But it continues to be HOT, HUMID and......

DRIPPING!

Of course, our windows were just washed (finally) last week.

And now?  Now they are DRIPPING!
