When we are on our balcony

we see the Atlantis...

 (well, kind of!)

 When we were poolside at the Atlantis

we saw the Dubai Marina......

HERE'S LOOKING BACK AT YA!

THE CLOUD HAS LANDED!!!

That's right!  The Cloud has landed!   What do we think?
John and I both agree -- it feels like we are sleeping on a cloud!

We have enjoyed the absolutely most comfortable nights we've had since living here in Dubai.  We had a mattress (hard), a temperpedic topper, and eventually a thick foam mattress...all to help soften our bed!  And guess what -- IT DIDN'T WORK!  We tried.....we really did!

When we signed on for two more years in the Middle East we decided to splurge on a good mattress.  We LOVE our Sleep Number in the States.  No Sleep Numbers to be found in the UAE.  Sooooooo we searched and searched and searched every mattress store in Dubai.  By far, the softest mattress we found was the Tempur Cloud.

And now it's ours!!  The Cloud has landed right smack dab in the middle of our bedroom!  Is it jammy-up time yet?

Side Note:  Here's Tedders today.  Not quite feeling up to getting his picture taken.  Just kind of hanging out.  At least he is pain free.

COLOR MY WORLD!!

We've been back in the desert

for over a week.

I have NEVER experienced 

jet lag

like I have the past ten days!

I have spent hours poolside.  Let me rephrase that.

I have spent hours IN THE POOL!

It is WAY too hot to sit beside the water!

It's also the first/second week of 

Ramadan, 

meaning all restaurants and coffee shops 

are CLOSED until sunset!

Not exactly a riveting time to be back in the Middle East! 

But I did accomplish SOMETHING

during this bout of

exhaustion!

  

I LOVE to paint!  

And when a friend at the pool

told me I could borrow his ladder, paintbrushes, rollers, etc.,

I decided "let's do this"! 
PLUS, I needed to stay awake all day long
in hopes
of finally sleeping all night long!

 After completing the main living area,

I headed back 

to the Master bedroom!

 I ALMOST finished it,

but couldn't quite reach it all!

Then across the hall I scurried,

 with my ladder and paintbrush, to the 

guest bedroom/office.

It looks really orange here but it is really

my new favorite color: CORAL!

   
I had great supervision
during my
painting frenzy.
'Ol Tedders was right there watching my every stroke!
NOT!
(To be honest, he was bored to death sleep!)

 

Then, before I could control myself,

I added a splash of coral

in our entry!

I LOVE it! 

I wish I had more walls to paint.

It was just
sooooo much fun to......

THREE WEEKS.......

I think it likes our balcony, don't you?

Three weeks.....it only took three weeks to go from this.....

.....to this....

Hmmmmm, I wonder what it will look like in just three more?

JUST LIKE CLOCKWORK!

Our garbage truck came once a week in the States.  Here in Dubai, things are a little different!!

First of all, we have garbage boat and inside that boat is our garbage man!  He makes his appearance every morning and scans our marina area in search of anything that is floating that shouldn't be!  He keeps our magnificent view free from all debris! 

 And he appears each morning like clockwork!  Thank goodness for that!  

We love you, garbage man!  And we appreciate everything you do!!
