SUNRISE ON THE MARINA!

AHHHHH,

nothing beats a

                     SUNRISE ON THE MARINA!

BREAKFAST ON THE MARINA!

John, SHALLIE and I walked the 
Dubai Marina

last Saturday morning.

We found several new restaurants open

right along the water.
We chose Cafe Bateel for breakfast!

SHALLIE

sat at attention 
throughout our entire meal,
hoping for something good to drop!

John declared his Eggs Benedict 
the best he'd ever had!

I declared the sky 
the bluest I'd ever seen!

AHHH, November in Dubai!

MARINA MYSTERY SOLVED!!

Several mornings ago,

John and I

saw something being pulled through the Marina.

But we couldn't figure out what it was!

We kept watching it as it floated by and asked ourselves, 

"What the heck?"

This morning, as I was walking 

SHALLIE,

I figured it out, yes I did!

It is a docking platform for the

DUBAI FERRY

and the

DUBAI MARINA WATERBUS

on our side of the water!

Later today, I spotted another new dock

by the 

MARINA PROMENADE!

This one looked like it was a station for only the

DUBAI WATERBUS.

WOOHOO!

Marina mystery solved!

(John and I will sleep better tonight knowing this!)

GREEN FLASH! GREEN FLASH!!

So, I was sitting on our couch last night,

minding my own business,

when a neon green light flashed through our flat.

I ignored it,

(because I thought I was seeing things),

but then it flashed again.....

and again!

So I got up to investigate,

and this is what I found sailing through the Marina!

Yea, basically a boat on steroids!

Suddenly, the level of excitement of my evening 

went up a notch!

And, just like that, it was gone!

PIER 7 HAS OPENED!

 

You know that round building

by the Marina Mall?

You know that round building

by the Marina Mall

that's been empty for a long, long time?

 

Well, that round building is called Pier 7 and it is

now officially open for business!

When complete, it will be filled with restaurants and clubs!

 

Right now, in Pier 7, there is only one restaurant open.

It's called Abd El Wahab

(The Fisherman)

and it's located on the fifth floor.

 



The AWAM Gals! and friends and spouses

met there for their

MAY WINE & DINE WITH SPOUSES!

TIME FOR A TRIM!

Yes, it's time for a trim here in the

Dubai Marina!

 

 

Ya just gotta love it!



AL SUFOUH TRAM, DUBAI

PATIENCE.

I need patience every time 
I come across our bridge these days.
One morning John and I noticed
that we had a roundabout!  I swear, it was built overnight!
It's actually a roundabout that isn't quite a roundabout
because there is still a traffic signal. 
 

Therein lies my frustration.

It literally takes FOUR LIGHTS to cross our bridge
  and it makes me CRAZY.
There will be NO ONE in the roundabout, 
but the bridge will be packed with cars stopped at the light! 
They are building the Al Sufouh Tram down
the middle of the bridge.  

Yes, I am frustrated every time I'm on said bridge!

Until I saw this, that is.

Now that I can see the result of all of this chaos,

I vow to be more patient!

DEEP BREATH.  DEEP BREATH.  DEEP BREATH.

It promises to be AWESOME when it is completed.

But I have a feeling we will be long gone by 

the time the tram

rolls peacefully through a construction-free Marina!     

DUBAI MARINA WALK!

John and I 

ate breakfast on the Marina Walk yesterday.

 I can't decide 

which was better --

the food (which was delicious) or the view!

FUN IN THE DUBAI MARINA!

One night last weekend, while out eating dinner with friends, we saw this when we looked out the dhow's windows onto the Dubai Marina.  How cool is that?  I wanna do it!  I wanna do it!!

The dinner at Aprons & Hammers was (as always) delicious.
The conversation was (as always) delightful.  And the free entertainment was HUGE BONUS!

This FUN was in THE DUBAI MARINA!!!
