favorite pastime has become....

...baby bird watching!!!

GIRLFRIENDS WALKING THE MONON TRAIL!

and her girlfriends,

(Mitzy and Jenni),

took a long walk on the

MONON TRAIL!

And then they took a break,

sat on a bench,

and shared a story or two!

Oh yea, we humans walked it as well!

(Thank you ladies, for inviting us to join you!)

And after our walk,

(and a picture or two or three),

we all enjoyed 

our well earned lunch together!

I've got SHALLIE'S bag all packed and ready to go.  check

We grabbed a taxi 

and are on the way to the airport.  check

IT'S REALLY HAPPENING!

So long DUBAI.

I'm sure gonna miss every single one of you!

USA, here we come!!

Yes, 

WE'RE LEAVING ON A JET PLANE!

NEVER CAN SAY "GOODBYE"!!!!

sure is ready to fly to her new home in

INDIANAPOLIS!

LUFTHANSA,

on the other hand, has a different idea!

Due to an airline pilot strike, our flight has been delayed

until April 7th.

Never can say "Goodbye"!!!!

I'M LEFT WONDERING....

So the

BIG QUESTION

is.....

Can this pooch,

born and bred in the UAE,

leave her most favorite sunny spot on our balcony

for a fenced in backyard 

choc full of things like grass and bugs and squirrels?

We will know soon enough!

TEN DAYS!*!

BIG is not always BEST!

And while we were in Germany,

SHALLIE

spent time with her peeps at

WOOF!

The folks there

told us she liked playing with two tiny 

Chihuahuas the best!

I suppose in this case, 

the saying,

"BIG is not always BEST!"

holds true!

It sure feels good to be back home in Do-Buy!!!

JONATHAN et al. ARE IN DUBAI! (Day 8)

This was 

JONATHAN et al.

very last day in the UAE.

So we had to make it a memorable one!

Another ROAD TRIP to

AL AIN

to spend some time at

WADI ADVENTURE!

Because of a couple of

LOOPS OF SHAME,

we arrived just in time for

JONATHAN et al.

to be taken into the Briefing Room

for directions on

WHITE WATER RAFTING!

 

After they were briefed,

they suited up

and were ready for a trial run through the rapids!

They were definitely excited!

Off they paddled for their trial run!

(Note the smooooooth not-for-long water!)

Meanwhile, people zip lined over the water!

My oh my, what concentration!

They proved they were ready for

the white water,

so off they went, carrying their raft.

Um yeah, note the not-so-smooth water now!

And their day just wouldn't be complete without

capsizing!  OMG!

I'm happy to report that they survived

WHITE WATER RAFTING

in the desert!

Back in Dubai, we visited 

SKI DUBAI in the MALL OF THE EMIRATES!

And then we stopped by the

BURJ AL ARAB,

the only 7 Star hotel in the world!

Back home to pack and play with SHALLIE.....

for the very last time!

We went over to the 

JUMEIRAH BEACH WALK

for our last dinner together, outside at

INDIA PALACE!

Our last hug with this guy

until we return to Indianapolis!

And off

JONATHAN et al.

went into the airport to wait on their flight back to the

DEEP FREEZE!

Jason and Chloe thoroughly enjoyed
their day at

AQUAVENTURE

I sent our underwater camera with Chloe,

expecting lots of action shots

from all the water slides, not-so-lazy lazy river, and the

LEAP OF FAITH!

They spent the entire day there.....

and these are the only pictures that were taken!

I guess when you are busy having fun,

there simply isn't time for

photographs!

(Can you even imagine?)

So I took the liberty of inserting several pictures 

taken at

AQUAVENTURE 

a couple of years ago!

And one photograph (thank you, Photoshop),

showing that Chloe actually 

conquered 

THE LEAP OF FAITH!

They came home after the water park closed,

ready for a glass (or two) of wine

and a lasagna dinner!

And, of course, some

SHALLIE

time!

believes in Santa Claus....

(And presents - she just LOVES presents!)

....and I believe as well!

Look what Santa brought John and I for

CHRISTMAS!!

There really is a Santa Claus!!!

My time in a cast is coming to an end.

I will soon be out and about

enjoying all the things that Dubai has to offer,

She has been shedding with a capital "S" lately!

Since I have more computer time these days

(darn broken foot!),

I Googled "Pomeranians in Heat"

and found out that females

BLOW THEIR COAT

before they enter their cycle.

Mystery solved!

SHALLIE 

and I are "hunkering down" together

 at the moment!

Her long gorgeous coat has definitely been
BLOWN TO BITS
and now I'm going to have to keep her safe
as I walk her down the Marina
VIA A WHEELCHAIR!
