THAILAND PHASE TWO : PATONG ACTION (DAY 3)!

Anne and Doug had mentioned
THE GIBBON REHABILITATION PROJECT
at our dinner together.
So John and I jumped in a tuc tuc,
kept our fingers crossed that we would make it
up all the steep hills,
("I think I can, I think I can" became our mantra!)
and managed to arrive safe and sound at our destination!

We had a darling Australian tour guide
who explained how the project rehabs endangered gibbons.
It was delightful watching the obviously content gibbons
calling out to each and swinging
through the trees!

We maneuvered some steep climbing to
finally reach
THE BANGPAE WATERFALL!
(What an accomplishment that was!)

Then back to
PATONG BEACH
for another delicious seaside lunch,

some hugs by an adorable child vendor,

who convinced us to buy this beautiful
handmade flower necklace,

and where John purchased yet another
pair of unneeded sunglasses!

After lunch, we drove around
PATONG
taking in all of the sights
and, of course, a lady boy or two!
(Can you even believe it?)

We enjoyed a delicious dinner
with great entertainment,

awesome seafood,

wonderful wine,

fabulous fruit dessert,

and another great Thai massage!

HaHa.....
ya gotta love
PATONG BEACH...
(read the sign carefully)

...it's definitely where the
ACTION is!

DUBAI MASSAGES!

John and I LOVE massages.
Fortunately, here in Dubai, massages can be
reasonably priced.

We've enjoyed high priced massages
in fancy spas.
We've enjoyed reasonably priced massages
in clean, but not-so-fancy spas.

A couple of days ago,
John and I
went to a new place to get a massage,
on the plaza level of JBR.

When the hour was over,
John and I met in the waiting area. He asked, "So, how was it?"
I replied,
"That massage was actually ANNOYING!"

And it was -- it really was!
I don't think the girl was actually a masseuse --
she just couldn't have been!
She started massaging my back
and once I noticed that she kept repeating the same motion
over and over and over again,
I started counting.
 FIFTY REPETITIONS!
I thought the skin on my back was going to come off.
Then she went to my shoulder.
FIFTY REPETITIONS!
Then she started on my other shoulder.
FIFTY REPETITIONS!

I could go on and on and on.....
but I'll leave it at that as I'm trying hard to forget it!
ANNOYING!
REPETITIVE!
And she didn't even massage my arms, my hands,
my feet, or the front of me anywhere!
IT WAS SOOOOO ANNOYING!!!

We've definitely chalked that one off our list!
Oh, and I forgot --
when it was FINALLY OVER,
she told me to go take a shower.
And would you believe there was a urinal
in the little shower room.

NO WAY!
(It was clean, but COME ON!!)

ANNOYING!!!!*!!!!
