BEACH DAY!

One month from today,
we will no longer live across the street from the
ARABIAN SEA.
With that in mind, I decided to take
SHALLIE
for a long morning walk down the beach yesterday.
We bid good morning
to our resident camels, who were not quite ready
to begin their day!

It was even too early for their owners
to be up and moving.
All was quiet around their modest tent!

The beach was almost empty --
the perfect scenario when walking a dog on a
"No Dogs Allowed" beach!
SHALLIE
loved the sand and
was okay with the water....at a distance!

We actually saved lives yesterday morning
on our journey along the sea.
We threw exactly 25 stranded starfish
back into the water!
I'm sure they were thrilled beyond belief that
we decided to walk the beach!

Aren't you thrilled beyond belief that
I didn't take pictures of
all 25 of them?
As we sifted through sea shells and
returned the starfish to the awaiting water,
I couldn't help but think,
"Isn't nature absolutely amazing?"

There's nothing quite as peaceful
as an empty beach
on a beautiful morning at sunrise!

Several hours later,
I returned to that beach and found it
filled with people!

It will sure be different living in the Midwest of the
United States of America
once again.

Indianapolis is a long, long way
from a beach!
But I can't wait to smell freshly cut grass
and surround myself with sorely missed family and friends!
HAPPY TGI-TH, everyone!
Here's another video of SHALLIE on the beach!
Sending you all lots of sunshine!

I DID IT!

Hellooooooo people,
Shallie here!

Mom and I went to the beach
very, very early
one morning.
It was gorgeous outside and the
Arabian Sea
was as calm as calm can be.
(Just the way I like it!)

I got to hang with the birds!

I got to play in the sand!

And, oh my goodness,
somehow, before I knew it, I ended up
smack dab
in the middle of the water!
SALT IN MY EYES!  SALT IN MY EYES!

It happened so suddenly
I really don't know if I liked it or not!
I do know that I loved
the warmth of the sun drying me off again
and that
I really don't mind....
SAND IN MY NOSE!  SAND IN MY NOSE!

Just wanted to say "Hi" and
to tell you that.....

I did it!  I really did it!
I went swimming in the Arabian Sea!

(Oh yea, and today I am four months old!)

Peace Out Everyone!!

SHALLIE'S BEACH DAY!

A friend and I took our four-legged buddies
to the beach today.

We walked to the far corner near some rocks
and set up camp so as not to
disturb anyone!

It was Shallie's first time on the beach
and it didn't take her long to
discover she loved it!

She and her BFF (she has several), Marcell
shared many a secret
and many a snack
while enjoying their day in the sand!

It was yet another beautiful Dubai day.
The beach was darn near deserted and
 the water was cool.
The pups were very happy,
so my friend and I were very happy as well!

And then Shallie discovered a new past time --
digging in the sand!
She was so determined, I guessed she was
digging to China, or at least to Iran,
as it is only 30 miles or so from our beach!

I think we should have named her
SANDY!

ON THE BEACH!

This past Sunday was the
last day of the World Parachuting Championship.
What a great day it was to be
ON THE BEACH!

What an awesome day to be ON THE BEACH!

NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATED - THE BEACH!

John and I spent all day yesterday at the
BEACH!

(For those of you in cold, frigid areas -- you are so welcome!)

It was an absolutely gorgeous day,
with bright blue skies,

and a nice, warm breeze blowing!
(Okay, so maybe it was a bit more than a simple breeze!)

The World Parachuting Competition
was well underway at
SkyDiveDubai.

All afternoon, planes took off,

parachuters jumped into the sky,

and the planes came back and landed!
(And then they'd do it all over again, and again, and again!)

A grandstand had been built, next to the
BEACH
of the Arabian Sea,
for spectators to watch the competition.
(Or you could just watch from the sand, like John and I!)

A huge screen was erected
 to allow spectators
to watch the magnificent aerial formations of the jumpers.

Back on the BEACH,
diversity
"at its best" was displayed!

Yes, it was a beautiful day at the BEACH, to be sure!
So much so, that John and I were
too dog-gone tired
to go to the Opening Ceremony for the
World's Parachuting Competition!
(We are pathetic at times!)

But we did manage to head over to
The JBR Walk
to join in the National Day festivities!
(More on that tomorrow!)

HOT DOG!

It's HOT these days
in Dubai.
I mean REALLY HOT!
I mean, like triple digit HOT;
sand burning the bottom of your feet HOT;
sweat dripping down your face HOT;
worry about the dog on the beach HOT!

WHAT?

A HOT DOG on the beach?

Yes, an adorable cream colored Pomeranian puppy
was having a dandy time today swimming
in the
 Arabian Sea!

I just wanted to snatch that darling HOT DOG up
and bring him home
with me.

AHHHH, there's nothing better than a day at the
"no dogs allowed" beach
with one absolutely amazing HOT DOG
to admire and desire!

Tedders, you almost had
a roommate!
Just think, you'd finally have to learn to share!
