...AND YET ANOTHER "LAST"!!!

I attended 

MY VERY LAST 

MARINA Gals! THURSDAY COCKTAILS

last week.

(Less the cocktails!)

We met at the brand new

BEACH MALL

at Leopold's of London.

No alcohol was served, but we enjoyed a delightful

afternoon tea!

(And yes, JA, we all survived just fine!)

Afterwards,

some of the Marina Pals (our husbands)

joined us for dinner at

WAVEBREAKERS.

This was a special moment shared by

RON and JOHN.

(Nope, don't even ask!!!)

We sure enjoyed our final

DINING WITH SPOUSES....

...and just look at what happened after dinner!

OMGoodness, 

I thought the MARINA Gals! 

had organized this for

JOHN and I!!!

Hahaha -- it was actually a celebration at the 

Meydan Beach Club

at a party put on by our very own

 Sheikh Mohammad!

Yes, it was yet another "LAST"

....and it was certainly a memorable one!

POOLSIDE DINNER PARTY SEND OFF!

 

Last Friday night,

our good friends, Yvonne and Gary,

hosted a going away party for us and

for Susan and David Fisher.

It was



an absolute

blast!!!

 



We are certainly

going to miss

                                       
                                    these folks!

Caroline was our

"HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS"!

This was the 

"LOSER'S TABLE WITH THE MOSTESS."

(Just couldn't beat the view, the weather, the flowers!)

The absolute perfect combination!

Yes, it was the PERFECT combination indeed!

WOE IS ME!

I couldn't wait for this past weekend to begin!

The MARINA Gals! Thursday Cocktails

was to be the start

of an awesome fun-filled weekend.

Drinks served poolside at the Address Hotel,

with awesome views of the Marina....I couldn't wait!

 Friday Night we were so looking forward to sharing 

laughs (and more laughs)

 at

GAME NIGHT

with some dear friends....I couldn't wait!

WOE IS ME!

The weekend was going to be capped off with

THE COLOR RUN

bright and early on Saturday morning!

Even with a broken foot, 

I was going to be able to attend

when friends said they would push me in my wheelchair!

I was sooooooo excited....I couldn't wait!

WOE IS ME!

What actually happened?

John and I were both as sick as dogs 

(sorry Shallie),

and never made it off our couches

THE ENTIRE WEEKEND!

WOE IS ME!

The good news?

WE BOTH SURVIVED!

THE PERFECT THANKSGIVING....WELL, ALMOST!

(A great big thanks to Cheryl, Terry and John C. for their photos...

 as I didn't take a one from my wheelchair!)

Our evening started out 

with the MARINA Gals! Thursday Cocktails at

BLISS LOUNGE (on the beach)

at the Sheraton JBR.

A bit later our husbands began to arrive

and joined in the fun!

We saw a spectacular sunset

over the

ARABIAN SEA!

When it was time to begin our

THANKSGIVING FEAST,

we were all seated

(roughly 70 of us in total!)

at large round tables, outside, under the palm trees.

We enjoyed watching belly dancers perform

and we enjoyed

Paul performing with the belly dancers!

(Can that man bust a move!)

In addition 
to a long buffet of 
"Everything Thanksgiving,"

an entire turkey, mashed potatoes,
 sweet potatoes and gravy 
arrived at each individual table!

Chef George 
walked amidst us 

carving and serving and carving and serving!

The food was divine!

(You know I'd say that about any food I didn't have to make!)
But it really, really, REALLY was divine!

Sherry explained to, 

and then demonstrated with,

Chef George

the art of pulling apart the coveted wishbone

and then making a wish!

Sherry won, but it certainly wasn't fair and square!

And then, 

when we could eat no more,

we walked over to Caroline and Farid's home,

where we enjoyed more food, more drinks and a sing-a-long!

All in all, it was the

PERFECT THANKSGIVING.....WELL, ALMOST!

The only thing missing was YOU.....

our family and friends back home in the States!

On Friday night
we enjoyed our annual 
PARK ISLAND THANKSGIVING!
It was yet another wonderful evening shared with 
GREAT FRIENDS!

On Saturday,
John roasted a 15lb turkey
so that we could enjoy yet another
TURKEY FEAST!
(What can I say, we LOVE leftover turkey!)

Again, it was the
 PERFECT THANKSGIVING....WELL, ALMOST!
