PEEPS IN DUBAI! DAY ELEVEN...THE FINAL DAY!

Woke up trying hard not to think that this was

THE LAST DAY 

of 

THE PEEPS IN DUBAI!

The morning started off

perfectly

with a brunch at Crumbs!

Then a quick trip next door

for a dash

through

jones the grocer!

(love, love, LOVE that place!)

 And finally we hightailed it back to the Marina

and walked across the street

to the BEACH!  

Guess what we saw?

Finally and at long last -- BLUE SKIES!!!!

  

After some mighty fine relaxing 

and people watching,

it was time to clean up and head out 

for last minute purchases! 

Our first stop was at Emirates Golf Pro Shop

to pick up a camel for Bev!

  

Then off to the Mall of the Emirates

for a quick glance at Ski Dubai!

  

Then off to the Dubai Mall

to buy another pair of anti flat flip flops for Mary!

And some more fake Pandora jewelry

for all three of us!

WHAT FUN WE HAD!*!

We swung by to pick John up from work

and headed to Festival City Mall

(yes, it was Mall Day for us!)

for dinner.

And then it was time for the dreaded......

"off come the shorts and on come the long pants"

for Bev and Mar.

UGH.  DOUBLE UGH.

 

  

Then off to the airport for a "no good-bye" good-bye

and a "I'll see you in six weeks" farewell!

The week flew by way too fast!

But what a fantastic week it was with 

THE PEEPS IN DUBAI!!!!

We woke up and started the day off right

with banana/blueberry smoothies!

(yum! yum!)

 

 Went to the pool

where Bev and Mary witnessed 

something that doesn't happen often in Dubai....

(drops people, mere drops!) 

We enjoyed being poolside, however,

the weather was far from perfect!

But it certainly didn't pour down rain like was predicted!

Then off to the desert we went on our

rescheduled Desert Safari!

Our driver was young, fast, and let's just say

he turned the radio volume to the highest setting.

(Oh, and he kept taking one hand 

off the wheel to jive to the music, 
all while speeding through the sand dunes--OMG!)

After surviving some wild dune bashing,

we arrived at the desert camp

where Bev and Mary rode their first camel!

(Don't look Mary -- I know I promised not to post

the second picture, but it's simply TOO good not to share!!)

 

The camp offered lots of activities such as 
dune buggy riding, four wheeling and sand boarding.

Bev and Mary hung out with the falcon guy

before entering "the camp"!

 

 

There were stores in the camp

with lots of stuff

to buy!

And Bev and I got henna tattoos!

(Mary was chicken -- and opted to buy a scarf instead!)

Nope, we did not partake in the 

sheesha....but tons of 

folks enjoyed it!

The campsite 
was awesome,

surrounded by sand dunes!

We found our table and 

sat down to eat dinner and enjoy the entertainment!

We made it home in one piece!

(A miracle, I might add, with that young and crazy driver!)

Someone was mighty happy

to see us..... 

It was the perfect night to spend in the desert with

THE PEEPS IN DUBAI!
