It was FINALLY time to go for our very first dive....ALL BY OURSELVES!!
John and I got up early and headed out for Snoopy Island in the emirate of Fujairah. It was a beautiful morning for a drive through the desert (every morning is beautiful when driving through the desert!) to the east coast of the UAE....and the Hajar mountains were as awesome as always!
After a couple hours of driving, we arrived at the Gulf of Oman! The sea was beckoning us -- it really was!
Fujairah and the drive north along the coastline to Dibba is absolutely magical!
The good news: we survived!! The bad news: no turtles! So I guess that means we need to book another trip SOON!! Until then.....both John and I are A-OKAY!*!

What was REALLY magical was when we arrived at the Dive Center!
The guys at the center were great -- they picked out our masks, snorkels, BCD's, an octopus for each of us, fins....you get the picture! The only thing they didn't have for us was MORAL SUPPORT! We were ON OUR OWN! So we jumped into our gear and posed for some memorable photos.....
....and swam out to Snoopy Island!
The night before this dive we purchased a new underwater camera -- a Nikon Coolpix. It just came to market and is the only point and shoot that goes 10 meters deep! I also purchased a mask but had to leave it to get corrective lenses made so that I can see underwater!
The following pictures were taken with our new camera by ME -- without being able to see! I caught some of the fish in pictures.....but others managed to escape! You can't imagine how many darn photos I have of absolutely nothing! But here are some of the ones that turned out...more or less!
